Andrew Dalziel

CooperVision contact lenses help a long-suffering wearer find the perfect fit.

Southampton-based patient, Andrew Dalziel, has finally discovered the benefits of finding a contact lens that is right for him at a time when he was considering switching back to glasses after a disappointing experience with lenses.

A contact lens wearer for the past 20 years, Andrew has experienced a wide range of lenses in his lifetime, including the original hard lenses produced back in the 1980’s and 90’s. As a keen mountain climber in his spare time, Andrew was looking for a lens to complement his active lifestyle and also his busy day job working with VDU’s.

However, he found that the hard lenses originally prescribed caused him irritation and dry eyes, but was relieved when he was introduced to soft contact lenses a few years ago and was eager to see whether these would provide a solution to his problem.

“I first broached the subject of contact lenses with my optician when I found that glasses weren’t suitable for my outdoor pursuits, but unfortunately I found the hard lenses very uncomfortable and not something I could wear for long periods of time. I did make the switch to soft lenses a few years ago, however I still couldn’t find a brand that ticked all the boxes,” said Andrew.

But there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Just six months ago, Andrew’s optician at Rawlings in Winchester recommended CooperVision’s Proclear Multifocal lenses to him and since then he hasn’t looked back.

“I had almost given up hope of finding a lens that fit my prescription yet also offered all-day comfort and that fresh feeling at the end of the day. My optician recommended Proclear Multifocal lenses and gave me a trial pack to take home, which really helped me sample the lenses before purchasing them.
“Since then I haven’t experienced any problems with the lenses, they’re easy to take care of and prove that it is all about trusting your Optician and make sure you both work together to find the right lenses for you,” Andrew added.

Proclear Multifocal lenses are specifically designed for people over the age of 40, who may have experienced a common vision condition called Presbyopia – a natural part of the eyes’ ageing process. Proclear lenses provide optimum vision quality at every distance and the freedom of soft contact lenses.

“As your prescription changes throughout your lifetime make sure you see your Optician regularly, not only to check the health of your vision, but your overall health as well. I would also recommend that customers ensure they are completely happy with their purchase, don’t suffer in silence like I did. If your lenses aren’t right, work with your Optician to find the perfect fit for you,” concluded Andrew.

Davina Bullimore

CooperVision contact lenses provide the ideal alternative to glasses for one patient.

When looking for a better aesthetic solution to glasses, Winchester-based patient, Davina Bullimore, was delighted to discover CooperVision contact lenses, which not only gave her freedom from glasses, but also provided the all-day comfort she needed.

Davina initially approached her Optician about trialling contact lenses 12 years ago, but was nervous due to the sensitive nature of her eyes. As a regular at the gym, as well as her day job as an Image Consultant for Divine Image, aesthetics were very important to Davina and she wanted to ensure that she always projected the best image of herself when dealing with her clients.

“As an image consultant I know that first impressions are paramount. Glasses can potentially make a person seem less approachable, which is something I wanted to avoid if possible. This is why I decided to trial soft contact lenses, not only for aesthetic reasons, but to also fit my prescription and enhance my vision,” she said.

After experiencing a variety of brands, Davina was finally introduced to Proclear Multifocal lenses and has been thrilled with the results so far.

“They’re perfect for my lifestyle – they’re comfortable, easy to handle and strike the right balance in terms of thickness. Following an initial trial, I was hooked! And even though the strength of my prescription has changed over the past few years, I have still maintained my loyalty to Proclear lenses.
“For anyone looking to get started with contact lenses or if you’re not happy with the fit of your current lenses then I would advise people to ensure they establish a relationship of trust between yourselves and your Optician. My local practice, Rawlings in Winchester, listens to my concerns and really does their best to find the right lens for me” Davina commented.
